A Step-by-Step Guide to Applying to IEM Academic Programs

Complete the online application form and gather the required documents, including transcripts, recommendation letters (from both a math and an English teacher), a personal statement or essay, a questionnaire, and proof of English proficiency (such as the ISEE/SSAT). You may also need to provide an affidavit of support and a bank statement. Be aware that some schools may require additional documents. To check for specific requirements, contact us for more information. Ensure all materials are submitted by the application deadline.

Eligibility will be assessed once all required documents are submitted. Ensure you meet our criteria, including academic performance, language proficiency, and age requirements. After submission, our team will carefully review your materials to determine if you meet the necessary standards for admission.

After your application is reviewed, you may be invited for an interview. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about you and for you to ask any questions about our program. 

If accepted, you will receive an acceptance notification along with instructions on how to confirm your place at IEM High School. Promptly complete any additional required steps to secure your spot. 

U.S. Student Visa (F-1) Application Process

Planning to study in the United States? Here is a simple step-by-step guide to help you apply for your F-1 student visa:

Step 1: Receive Your I-20

Once accepted by a SEVP-certified U.S. school, you will receive a Form I-20, which is required for your visa application.

Step 2: Pay the SEVIS

Fee Visit www.fmjfee.com to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee. Save the payment confirmation for your visa interview.

Step 3: Complete the DS-160 Form

Fill out the DS-160 visa application online at ceac.state.gov. Upload your photo and print the confirmation page.

Step 4: Schedule Your Visa Interview

Pay the visa application fee and schedule your interview at your nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.

Step 5: Prepare Required Documents

Bring the following to your interview:

  • Valid passport
  • Letter of acceptance
  • Bank statement (recommended to cover one year of tuition and living expenses)
  • Form I-20
  • DS-160 confirmation page
  • SEVIS fee receipt
  • Visa appointment confirmation
  • One 2×2-inch passport photo
  • Academic transcripts and test scores (if required)


Step 6: Attend Your Visa Interview

Be ready to talk about your school choice, your future academic plans, who is supporting you financially, and your plans after graduation.

Step 7: Get Your Visa

If approved, your passport will be returned with the F-1 visa stamped. You’re now ready to begin your studies in the U.S.!
